Heath Ledger Wins Big Aussie Acting Award

Is an Oscar next?

The late Heath Ledger was awarded the Australian Film Institute’s international award for best actor, one of Oz’s most prestigious film awards, yesterday, Saturday, for his portrayal of the Joker in the The Dark Knight.

Heath’s sister, Kate, was at the ceremony to collect the award.

Fighting back tears, Kate said, “It has been without a doubt the most difficult year, losing such a loved family member. We are so proud of him and humbly accept this award on behalf of his beautiful daughter [Matilda], whom we will cherish forever.”

Who Wears Tight Pants? Heath Wears Tight Pants

Heath Ledger stayed out of the NYC rain with a stylish purple umbrella yesterday afternoon. It’s a good thing he figured out how to clip his keys to his belt loop because there’s no way he was getting it in his pocket — hey now, tight pants. From that umbrella on down to his shoelaces he’s really quite coordinated with his purple and red accessories. He’s nowhere near as cute as when he’s got little Matilda on his shoulders, but at least he’s got an eye for color.
