Richard Curtis, the latest closeted Republican involved in a gay sex scandal, announced his resignation on Tuesday.
The politician from Washington was involved in an extortion case.
In police reports, Curtis alleges he was being extorted by a man he had sex with in a Spokane hotel room - while in town on a Republican retreat.
The other man contends Curtis reneged on a promise to pay $1,000 for sex.
In a statement from Curtis he announced his resignation.”Today I submitted my letter of resignation to Governor Gregoire effective immediately. While I believe we’ve done some good and helped a lot of people during the time I served in the Legislature, events that have recently come to light have hurt a lot of people. I sincerely apologize for any pain my actions may have caused,” the statement read.”This has been damaging to my family, and I don’t want to subject them to any additional pain that might result from carrying out this matter under the scrutiny that comes with holding public office.”

We were a bit worried that P-Nasty was going to be the only gay on MTV’s Celebrity Rap Superstar, premiering next Thursday, August 30th, live at 10 PM.
Thankfully, there will be some more homoliciousness on the show, we’ve just found out.
Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that DaBrat has signed up to be one of the judges on the show and and MC Lyte will be a “mentor” to one of the contestants.
We’re not sure about Lyte, but Brat is a big ol’ carpet muncher.
Hmm. She’s probably not gonna like that we just outed her! Ha.

The singer told reporters in Puerto Rico on Wednesday that he wants kids - perhaps adopting “one from each continent” if possible.

“I want to do it right,” he said. “I don’t want any problems or misunderstandings. … Some think as celebrities we can manipulate the system to have a quicker adoption.”

New Jersey's supreme court ruled on Wednesday in favor of recognizing same-sex unions and granting gays and lesbians the same rights, privileges and protections as heterosexual couples.
What makes this move quite thrilling is that unlike Massachusetts, New Jersey has no laws barring out of state couples to wed. So....gays and lesbians can marry in NJ and then go back to their home their home state and challenge those laws to recognize the Jersey marriage.
A change is a-coming!!!!

Grey's Anatomy cutie, T.R. Knight, has come out of the closet!!!
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight said in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."
