Gwyneth Paltrow stayed out of last night’s inclement Manhattan weather thanks to her trusty umbrella holder. She was showing off her stems in her pre-London hometown where she is currently shooting Two Lovers with Joaquin Phoenix. Lucky little Londonites Apple and Moses got to spent part of their Summer at Gwyn’s childhood home in LA, Fall in Spain while she shot her PBS show, and hopefully now they’ll make some great memories of the holidays in NYC.

Heath Ledger stayed out of the NYC rain with a stylish purple umbrella yesterday afternoon. It’s a good thing he figured out how to clip his keys to his belt loop because there’s no way he was getting it in his pocket — hey now, tight pants. From that umbrella on down to his shoelaces he’s really quite coordinated with his purple and red accessories. He’s nowhere near as cute as when he’s got little Matilda on his shoulders, but at least he’s got an eye for color.

Guess who needs some new luggage?

Last night in LA Eva Longoria came out in a cute, slinky gold dress to open up her new restaurant, Beso, and promote Samsung’s newest Blackjack II. GeekSugar and I were lucky enough to score an invite to the event where we enjoyed the awesome new space alongside the likes of Eva and The Hills girls. Whitney was there all night (and adorable) while LC and Audrina showed up fashionably late just a little before midnight. Unfortunately, they weren’t filming their tooooootally not fake show. Also, I somehow missed adorable Zachary Levi from Chuck, boo, but I did get a good John Voight sighting . . . random. Music for the evening was provided by the Ronson siblings with Samantha spinning and Mark’s band performing. Fun times in Hollywood.

Guess who is stopping by the studio?

Impossibly adorable couple John Mayer and Minka Kelly enjoyed some courtside seats for last night’s Knicks game at MSG alongside Ellen Pompeo and her fiance. Unfortunately, the NY Knicks lost to the Miami Heat by just a few points, but that didn’t get in the way of John and Minka’s fun and eye-gazing. Love her blue sweater, btw. Minka’s Friday Night Lights took a little while to really get rolling this season, but is totally back to its excellent self (yay). Thankfully Minka seems like a little more down to earth (and a little less preachy) than her on screen counterpart. Plus, how could you not just love her with John? Don’t they look like college students coming home from the library together?

Between making playlists for charity, speaking about her various causes or imparting life lessons, it’s hard to believe that Natalie Portman has time for a boyfriend. But here she is being all cute and cozy in NYC with her man (and co-founder of Rag & Bone) Nathan Bogle last week. We first saw these two back in September at the US Open and since then Miss Portman has been all over the world. I’m sure she’s got men fawning over her everywhere she goes, but it looks like when she’s ready for some time in NYC there’s only one guy on her mind.

Guess who is waiting at the valet?

Looks like there is at least one celebrity these days who doesn’t mind admitting the obvious. We suspected Cate Blanchett was carrying her third child and you all seemed to agree the rumors were to be believed. In Sydney at the premiere of her latest film Elizabeth: The Golden Age Cate was asked if she was expecting and she said, “Yes, I am. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.” She referred to her expected newborn as “it” in response to not knowing the sex since the press was already starting rumors that she was having a boy. Congrats to the beautiful actress and her growing family.

SJP and the rest of the cast of the Sex and the City movie were back to work in their very formal wear in NYC yesterday. We’ve seen so many pictures on the set of the movie already, but we’re still looking forward to all the surprises the movie has in store for us — like all the steamy scenes that couldn’t be shot outdoors. We also can’t help but wonder if Carrie and Big took their relationship to the next level and moved in together. We’d hate to see her lose that fabulous apartment, but we can always just get the look of her crib to keep the Carrie vibe going strong until the movie hits theaters and we can find out for sure.

After a weekend of Halloween partying with all the celebrities at Kate Hudson’s party, Ashley Olsen was off to NYC to meet up with her dad, Danny Tanner. Ashley and Bob Saget grabbed dinner at Manhattan’s The Spotted Pig last night, obviously giving their fellow diners a pretty awesome celebrity sighting. While I’m not sure that Bob Saget is one for fatherly advice these days (um, have you seen his stand-up?), I’m sure he’ll always have a special place as a mentor in the Olsens’ hearts. Maybe next time they can bring along DJ or Stephanie? Uncle Joey or Jesse? Comet even?

Cate Blanchett was all dressed in black as she made her way around Manhattan this weekend. Lately, we’ve been seeing Cate in loose fitting dresses at the various premieres of Elizabeth: The Golden Age and now that she’s not all done up we can’t help but notice a few things. You know we hate to speculate, but the Internet is abuzz that Cate might be expecting her third baby. Of course, it could just be some unflattering fashion choices or being caught at a bad angle, so tell us what do you think?
