Paris Hilton visited the Late Show With David Letterman on Friday night and the interview didn’t go as planned for the heiress. She was there to promote her new fragrance Can Can and talk about Repo! The Genetic Opera, but Dave just wanted to ask about jail. Paris stayed good natured even though she very clearly wanted to change the subject. She eventually pouted until she got her way, but not before Dave got in a few good jabs. Watch it below and let us know — do you think Letterman crossed the line with Paris?

We’re excited for all of the new fall TV shows, but seeing pictures of Jerry Seinfeld promoting his animated film Bee Movie makes us a little nostalgic. Luckily Jerry is coming back to television next week to make a guest appearance on 30 Rock, but he made us realize that there are a ton of other 90’s stars and shows we really miss. We’ll admit to perhaps being in the tiniest amount of denial about this Kiefer Sutherland DUI situation, as we spent most of the week trying to convince ourselves that the story was just some kind of hallucinatory side effect of our own Tuesday morning hangover. But then news arrives about charges being officially filed today and it becomes a little harder to ignore the fact that America’s most lovable, belt-sander-wielding, Geneva-convention-violating counterterrorist (see, there we go again, emotionally defending ourselves by imagining he’s as invulnerable as Jack Bauer) could be in some real jeopardy:
The star of the Fox TV drama 24 was charged with single counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above, said city attorney spokesman Nick Velasquez. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a minimum of four days, Velasquez said.
“We also charged him with a second DUI offense within 10 years, which we believe also violates the terms of his probation,” Velasquez added.
If found guilty of violating probation, Sutherland could be sentenced to an additional six months.
While we know we can’t avoid reality forever, we’re happy to retreat back into fantasy for a little while longer, at least until the next update about the progress of the DUI proceedings. Excuse us while we close our eyes and envision Kiefer giving us a thumbs-up from across Ye Rustic Inn just moments before throwing his body into a Christmas tree, helping his evergreen adversary back to an upright position, then hooking his car keys on one of its branches as he whispers apologetically, “Hey, buddy, sorry about that. How about you give me a ride home? You know, the probation and all that. Can’t be too careful.”

· If Venice is too far, there’s always the Grand Avenue Festival downtown to satisfy eastsiders’ communal gathering needs.
· And lastly, there’s the West Hollywood Book Fair at West Hollywood Park to further splinter Sunday afternoon’s festival-going community.

I don’t know how, but this site seems to have turned into a tribute page to The Hills. Anyway, everybody’s favorite plastic surgery role model Heidi Montag was spotted frolicking on the beach yesterday wearing a pink bikini and carrying around a red life preserver. What an accomplished life. When she’s 60 and looking back on her life she’ll be able to say she inspired a nation of girls to get breast implants and run on the beach. Somebody should get started on her biography now. It’s such a moving story of determination and the human spirit. She makes that Rosa Parks character look like a total douche.

She must be stopped!
Britney Spears‘ mediocre new single, Gimme More, which has stalled at radio, has managed to hit #1 on the iTunes singles chart.
That is just unacceptable!
As she proved with her disrespectful and half-assed performance at the VMAs, Britney does not care about her fans. Yet her hardcore fans are buying multiple copies of her single and gifting it to their friends.
Like a Los Angeles court said, Britney is a frequent and habitual user of drugs and buying her song is just feeding her addictions. Her fans are not “supporting” her now in their time of need. They are being enablers. And that’s not what Britney needs.
Britney needs tough love!
Britney needs a boycott!
So, the perfect alternative to all that is wrong with Britney?

Heidi Montag showed up at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood event and proudly displayed the issue in which she basically states that she’d rather die than have small breasts. Amazing. This would be like Britney Spears smiling and holding up the issue of Ok! Magazine that details her coke problem and shoddy parenting skills. Though, to be fair, I hear she does walk around with it and shows it to people. And by people I mean the guy at McDonald’s that makes the fries. He understands her.
