Jennifer Lopez has dropped out of the 2007 film version of Dallas.  “She is out of Dallas,” says Lopez’s rep Leslie Sloane Zelnik.

Jennifer was set to play the role of alcoholic Sue Ellen, opposite John Travolta, who will play J.R. Ewing.

Since the movie was announced it has been beset with problems. Original director Robert Luketic quit the project earlier this year due to “creative differences” and was replaced by ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ director Gurinda Chadha.

The Pussycat Dolls are searching for a new member.

New TV network CW are launching ‘The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll’, which will pit pop wannabes against each other for the chance to become the seventh member of the chart-topping girl group.

CW president of entertainment Dawn Ostroff said: “At its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll. It’s about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation.”

Casting sessions to look for the sexiest singer-dancers will be led by Pussycat Dolls choreographer Robin Antin and the band members will also be involved in choosing the finalists.

Those who make it through the gruelling auditions will have to prove themselves by living together in Los Angeles and performing weekly challenges.

The Pussycat Dolls - Ashley Roberts, Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, Nicole Scherzinger, Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta - were created ten years ago by Antin as a burlesque act.

Their debut album, ‘PCD’, was released last September and sold more than 4.7 million copies worldwide.

Last week, new single ‘Buttons’ became the third track to make it into the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching number four.

Tommy Lee must really hate traffic: The pilot of a helicopter that Lee had ferry him from his Hollywood Hills home to a concert in Irvine, Calif. was charged today by the Los Angeles City Attorney with landing an aircraft on a public road, and two other charges besides.

On July 7, the Air Support Division of the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a helicopter hovering above a residence in the Hollywood Hills. The officers tried to contact the helicopter pilot, 49-year-old David Keith Martz, but the helicopter landed on a public street and the pilot entered a residence. Tommy Lee was seen coming out with two other passengers and the aircraft departed to the southeast.

LA City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo charged Martz with one count of reckless operation of an aircraft, one count of landing an aircraft on a public road and one count of landing an aircraft without a permit. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1000 fine.

Looks like Katharine McPhee, who finally joined the American Idols Live tour last week after a bout of bronchitis and laryngitis, has fractured her left foot.

The American Idol runner-up tripped backstage before a performance Tuesday night in Charlotte, N.C., said Roger Widynowski, a representative for McPhee’s record label, RCA.

However, McPhee was able to take the stage - wearing “slipper-sandals” - to sing two songs. She went to a hospital after the performance, and X-rays showed a hairline fracture in her left foot, Widynowski told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Widynowski said McPhee is in “good” condition and will stay on the tour.

The 22-year-old singer missed the first few weeks of the tour because her doctor told her not to sing. She joined the tour in Washington on Friday.

McPhee, known for her sultry looks and her cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, lost the most recent round of the Fox talent competition to Taylor Hicks.

Natalie Reid - considered to be the one of the world’s top Paris Hilton lookalikes (yea, whatever!!) - is baring all for Playboy magazine.

The Paris Hilton double is featured in a six-page photo spread in the September 2006 issue, which hits newsstands today.

“I think it’s going to lead to a lot of opportunities. I still want to pursue modelling but I really want to get into acting,” Reid, 21, said Monday from her home in New York City. “A lot of celebrities and top models have done Playboy, so it’s pretty exciting.”

Reid said she’s been taking acting classes in Los Angeles and the Big Apple when she’s not modelling or making social appearances as the hotel heiress.

A friend at Playboy recently gave her a sneak peek of the pictorial, titled One Night As Paris—a play on the title of a homemade sex tape of Hilton and an ex-boyfriend. 

“It’s really gorgeous and very classy and it’s very tasteful,” said Reid, who grew up in Transcona and graduated from College Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

“I wouldn’t have posed for any other magazine. When Playboy gave me the offer I was very excited because they’re an empire and have a well-known reputation.”

An online auction of Paris Hilton‘s jewelry may be halted after internet auction site eBay was threatened with legal action. The 33-piece private collection, including a tiara, a bra-chocker set and crystal-encrusted “SEX” pendant, is being sold on the site by a seller only known as ’chironclub‘.

David Hans Schmidt has come forward claiming to be the rightful owner and his attorney, James Bell, has sent the site a cease and desist letter demanding they stop the sale.

Schmidt, nicknamed the ‘Sultan of Sleaze’ because of the links to the pornography industry, says he bought the jewelry as part of a larger collection of the star’s belongings for $2,775.

The collection was originally auctioned off after Paris’ Los Angeles storage unit - which contained jewelry, clothing, furniture, journals and videotapes - was seized after the ‘Stars Are Blind’ singer allegedly failed to pay her monthly fee.

Schmidt is said to be in negotiations with several major US companies, including a leading health and fitness organization, to trade the items for promotional services to be rendered by Paris. The eBay auction was due to run until Sunday (August 7, 2006), with the starting price for all lots $20.

The auction description reads: “Now up for sale is a huge collection of costume jewellery that previously belonged to…oh, yes! to a super-extra-hyper famous public personality and young lady - PARIS HILTON.”
